Dee is recently new to ANZA WanderingYogi, but already becoming a favourite of many in our community. She guides either Monday or Friday yin classes.
Dee was born in the UK, lived in Sydney, Australia for the last 11 years with her husband and 2 adult children, who are now independent and living in Australia. She loves all things in nature and anything creative. She also has a passion for ceramics and is currently learning to perfect the art of ‘throwing’ on the wheel.
Why am I a yogini?
I started practicing Hatha yoga about 6 years ago and became captivated by the history, postures and meditations. To deepen my understanding of yoga I enrolled in a Hatha Yoga Teacher Training course. I can honestly say it changed my life – and now it has become a way of life. During my studies I had a serious illness. I found that despite physical limitations, my yoga practice and meditation skills were invaluable in assisting me with my return to health. I feel grounded when I practice yoga. When I need to be calm it provides stillness and when I need energy it’s uplifting and, in addition, it strengthens both mind and body.
I teach Hatha and Yin yoga and have studied TCM Acupressure and Qi Gong. I am a Reiki Level 2 practitioner and currently studying QiGong Energetic Healing. I am striving to live in the ‘Now’ and love Ekhart Tolle’s teachings. I love to introduce others to the wonderful benefits that yoga offers and help them enjoy their practice at whatever level suits them.
